The Pulse team were so excited to be able to run a 3-day Godly Play Core Training in Canberra in January 2026. 10 curious participants from different congregations, ministries and walks of life gathered at the Godly Play Room at Radford College together with our Trainers Carolyn Handley and Judyth Rogers, assisted by Renee Simpfendorfer and Fr Christopher Lewis.
It was such a special time and we would love to share with you what some of the participants said:
“The training was a rich time of learning and collegiality. While Godly Play has been developed for children—and is a beautiful way of drawing them into God’s story while honouring their curiosity—it is also holds significant potential for engaging adult spirituality. Although it appears simple, learning the skills to use it well opens up many possibilities. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity.”
“Participation in the recent Godly Play training has been a deeply formative experience, enriching both my personal spiritual understanding and my capacity to contribute meaningfully to our community’s faith formation. The training offered a rare opportunity to engage with a creative, contemplative approach to storytelling that invites people of all ages into sacred wondering.”
“Godly Play has opened new possibilities for shaping our all-age messages. I left the training with a renewed hope that the Spirit will guide me in sharing stories in ways that encourage curiosity, reflection, and intergenerational engagement-age messages. “The Godly Play training has equipped me with new skills, deeper theological insight, and a renewed sense of purpose. It has strengthened my capacity to support spiritual formation across ages and cultures, and it has opened pathways for creative collaboration within our community. I look forward to integrating these learnings into our ministry and nurturing a space where wonder, story, and the Spirit can flourish.”
